Pilings

Pilings done right, in-house.

Pilings are the single biggest predictor of how long a dock or lift lasts. Driven too shallow, they pull out in a surge; left unwrapped, they're eaten by borers and rot at the waterline.

We drive 2.5 CCA pressure-treated and concrete pilings to the right depth for your canal bottom, wrap them against marine borers, and repair or replace failing pilings under existing structures.

Questions

Pilings FAQ.

How deep should pilings be driven?

Typically 8–12 feet into the canal bottom depending on substrate — deep enough to resist lateral surge load. We assess your bottom on-site.

Why wrap pilings?

Wraps protect the wood at and below the waterline from marine borers and rot, which is the most common failure point. It dramatically extends piling life.

Can you replace pilings under my existing dock?

Yes — we repair, sister, or fully replace pilings beneath existing docks and lifts.

Wood or concrete pilings?

Both have a place — concrete for maximum longevity, wrapped wood for cost and flexibility. We'll recommend per your build.

Do pilings need permits?

Marine piling work is generally permitted; we handle it as part of the job.
